BURBS

BURBS marks a tonal shift — the calm at the end of Jetty gives way to something colder, faster, and more surreal. Where the last track settled like a sunset, this one opens under streetlights. The night has arrived, and with it, a new kind of energy.

Leaning into an EDM/House-oriented structure, Burbs is sharper and more rhythmic. The pacing suggests movement, even freedom, but there’s a detachment in the atmosphere that keeps everything slightly at a distance. Synths flicker like passing headlights, percussion hits clean but calculated, and there’s a subtle repetition that mirrors the loop of empty roads and familiar routes.

At its core, the track explores the illusion of safety. Suburbs present comfort by design — quiet streets, clean lawns, predictable space. But Burbs pushes back on that idea. The polish feels artificial. The energy is restless. There’s a tension in the sound that suggests something underneath the surface — a kind of paranoia masked by routine.

BURBS is about movement with no real destination. A soundtrack for nights that feel familiar, but never fully settled.

The surroundings feel secure — but you don’t.
